Our Refund Policy
Refund Policy | The Basics
At Ást Atelier, we believe in thoughtful purchasing and the quiet joy of choosing pieces you will love, keep and live with. Our makers and artists create in small batches or one-of-a-kind runs; each piece carries time, skill and intention. We encourage you to take your time when deciding – to sit with your choices, ask questions, try pieces on, and choose consciously.
Because our garments, artworks and wares are made in limited numbers (and often uniquely), your purchase is considered a commitment to keep and care for what you’ve selected. Once a sale is made, we notify and pay the maker or artist accordingly. For this reason, all sales of artist-made pieces, garments and objects are final, and we are unable to offer refunds for change of mind.
If you are unsure, please let us know – we are always happy to assist with sizing, fit, function, materials and care before you make your decision.
Exchanges
Where possible, we may offer exchanges for alternate sizes or pieces within 7 days of purchase, provided the item is:
- unworn and unused
- in original condition
- with tags intact
- and the maker consents to exchange availability
Due to the nature of small-batch production, exchanges cannot always be guaranteed.
Faults & Maker Assurance
In the rare event that an item has a genuine fault or arrives damaged, we will work directly with the maker to provide repair, exchange or refund in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
Tailoring & Services
Tailoring, alterations, made-to-measure and bridal services are bespoke and non-refundable due to the time, labour and fittings involved. Quotes may vary if additional work is required.
If you have questions before committing to a garment or service, we strongly encourage consultation – we are here to guide you.
Workshops & Events
Workshop bookings may be transferred or credited with 7 days’ notice.
Changes to bookings within 7 days are non-refundable due to limited capacities and preparation by the facilitator.
Our Shared Values
We thank you for respecting that:
- makers and artists are paid for their work at the point of sale
- small-batch and handmade goods are not disposable
- conscious purchasing reduces waste and increases longevity
- keeping what we choose is part of a slower, more sustainable culture
At Ást Atelier, we believe that loving something longer is the most meaningful form of sustainability – and we are grateful to share that commitment with you.
